My memories are few and scrambled. I'm not even sure it was this hospital ER I was taken to as I still have not regained my memory. I had been on methadone for years for chronic pain, not because I was a heroin addict. The side effects were devastating but my physician refused to let me go off stating I had too many issues ie: broken back, replacement disc in neck etc. I decided to take myself off not knowing what I was in for. By the end of the first or second week I had not slept anymore than an hour at a time, if that. The pain in my body indescribable as was the restlessness of my entire body. After numerous pleas for help to our local ER and my personal physician, I was transported to a rehab facility near Altoona. We pay over a thousand dollars a month for health insurance but it would not cover anything that had to do with drug use---prescribed or otherwise. Therefore, my daughter had to find a facility that would take me for free. I do not remember the trip. By the end of the first or second day there I had started to hallucinate and apparently had slurred speech. They told my daughter later they thought I was having a stroke. My last memories are of someone saying "should we call an ambulance?" Fast forward---I am washing my pants out at what reminded me of my parents cellar sink and someone tries to grab them away from me. Then someone is yanking me by the hair and pulling my head back. I remember a searing pain shooting up into my head. Then my memories are all mixed up. Some military guy bent my arm back until it was straight inline with my spine. After that no memories at all. I was back at the rehab center and it was Monday. I think I left home on Thursday. I just received a summons in the mail accusing me of aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct for fighting. I am not a street junkie. I've never even had a traffic ticket. I was the victim of a physician who just didn't care enough. Sleep deprivation and whatever medications I received prior to my trip to Altoona must have caused my memory loss and confusion. Why, if I was accused of calling 911 and reporting I had been kidnapped, wasn't I restrained and a history of my condition delved into? Are there cameras in the ER that will help me understand what happened to me? And why did you wait 2 months to charge me?
